They could determine what you're looking for and point you in the right direction, as we, on the internet, don't really know your personal likes/dislikes and that will make a difference. You'll need to pay them to come look at your house and give you some direction, but the money could be worth it. The ranch house is one of the most versatile house styles in the last 75 years and can be modern, cottages, bungalows and anything in between. It's difficult to put an era to it, but based on the photos I would say any time between early 60s to mid 70s, is that close? If you're in that era, then search through photos on houzz looking for "Mid-Century Modern", you'll get a lot of photos back that might give you ideas. The style of your house is absolutely a ranch. If you can paint the garage doors like the main house, I think that is great.

If I'm wrong, then painting trim around white windows in a lighter taupe to bridge the mid-tone and the white is really perfect - but if you can only do that at the front door, that is okay - brighten that guy up! New fixtures and house numbers in silver tones could do a lot - you might enjoy looking at the "atomic ranch" house book about how to modernize ranch styles - it is inspiring.Īlso think a brighter "ceiling" paint above the entry as suggested above would be marvelous - probably a creamy buff to go with the earth tones. That is why most of my suggestions were to help it make more sense and use a paler tone on the overall home. Nice, but really white and impossible to paint successfully without a lot of effort to use special primers, etc and then you have a maintenance issue where now you have none. I'im guessing that the trim around the windows is a masonry surround out of the same white vinyl that many new windows come with. With a mid-tone on the body of your home, I would go one shade lighter for the trim around my front door and sidelights - you could even paint your front door red. You can see a lighter version of this color in the stone (look to the right of your left window for a large stone that is just below the mullion line). I would recommend painting the body of your home a warm mid-tone taupe (brownish - gray / grayish - brown).
Right now it is painted so dark that it offers no contrast to the roof, the windows are high contrast, and the entry also is dark.
The stone panel on the front (except that you don't have a chimney, it looks like the back of a fireplace!) offers some beautiful color options that would work better with the white windows and trim that you've got, but still work well with the dark brown garage door if it is not something you want to paint.
I think painting them out with the body color of the house is a good idea, but can envision some options for your home that would make it sing.
I would make a painting suggestion - you do have a nice ranch house with lovely reverse board and batten vertical siding with some additional wide board vertical trim in the front that probably originally acted as accents.
