These books are set in White Wolf's world of Vampire the Masquerade, which is a terribly interesting place to begin with, and which is probably why I found these so delicious to read. The only problem I had with him is, he is supposed to be the most powerful and feared man in the world since he is the vessel for the Dark Messiah-Lameth Yet, his character doesn’t play the part. Dire McCain is also left as a mystery to his lineage. We still don’t know exactly who Rachael and Rueben are. At the hallway point I was wondering how in the world all the story lines were going to be cleared up. I felt too much time was spent recounting past events and developing new characters. The only problem I had with him is, he is supposed to be the most powerful and feared man in the world This was a good finale to the series.
